    So, such great news. Aiesha called and was so overwhelmed by the news. She kept saying “Thank you, thank you” – crying at times – “We couldn’t have achieved this without your Group’s help”.

    Wonderful news! A couple with two children applied for a Safe Haven Enterprise Visa (SHEV) and BMRSG assisted them with their legal costs. They were terrified of being deported back to danger. They had their interview with the Department of Immigration and Border Protection about five weeks ago and today they received a letter saying that their application had been approved.

    Work of BMRSG – Donations help those seeking asylum apply for visas

    Recent appeals by BMRSG for donations to assist asylum seekers with legal fees associated with visa applications have raised over $13,000, thanks to the generosity of so many caring people.
    The Dept of Immigration has been writing to asylum seekers living in the community demanding that they put in applications for TPVs (Temporary Protection Visas) or SHEVs (Safe Haven Enterprise Visas) within 30 or 60 days, or risk losing all their sources of income, such as Centrelink payments.Read more →

    Last week the Turnbull government launched an unprecedented attack on around 12,000 people seeking asylum who arrived by sea to Australia between August 2012 and December 2013. After waiting over four years to be invited to apply for asylum, these people have received letters from the government with as little as 30 days to lodge their refugee application.
