BLUE MOUNTAINS REFUGEE SUPPORT GROUP CO-ORDINATOR FOR FUND RAISING

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST INVITED

BMRSG needs a co-ordinator for its fund raising team. He or she need not be a fundraiser because the team has most of the necessary skills. The co-ordinator needs to guide and supervise the various fund raising activities and support the volunteers managing these, set goals, create and maintain a calendar of events and make sure that activities happen on time, also coordinate with and inform the BMRSG committee and where necessary the social media manager.

A person with proven project management or co-ordination experience would be suitable.

Currently the BMRSG needs to raise about $100,000 per annum . At present the main methods for raising funds are: direct mail appeals; raffles;  events such as concerts, trivia nights, dances; dinners; and, online fund raising. Other methods are always being considered. The fund raising team has 10 members with people responsible for each of the major activities. This is a highly skilled and committed group of people.

The incumbent George Winston will share his experience with the new co-ordinator while he gradually withdraws from his current responsibilities. Documentation for various fund raising activities already exists.

Estimated time commitment: 12 hours per week.
