Springwood Hub, 3 – 5 July.

Connecting for Change

An opportunity for RAR groups and refugee advocates to meet and rebuild our enthusiasm and passion for our work.
Registrations are now open to the RAR Conference for RAR group members!

There is a separate tab for BMRSG members – please use that when you go to register.

Highlights include:

Arif Hussein, human rights lawyer, now working with RACS

Najeeba Wazefadost, founder of the Hazara Women’s Association

Julian Burnside, barrister and refugee advocate for the past 20 years

Craig Foster, who is working with Amnesty Australia on the #gameover campaign to get refugees and people seeking asylum off Nauru and Manus

Angela Fredericks, who has campaigned relentlessly for the Tamil family from Biloela #hometoBilo

There will be 18 breakout sessions, covering many topics like engaging young people, advocacy, resettlement, changing hearts and minds, skills and networking sessions.  Especially there will be time to meet others, hear stories from people with lived experiences, and renew friendships.
